Purpose Weighing less than a dime, the Bee Hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world located in the humid climate of Cuba. Its main focus of pollination is essential to most ecosystems. When it comes to building a nest, a pre-made home can conserve energy and pollination levels. A minimal approach and familiar form can suit the birds needs and fit in today's modern world.
Sketch and Materials This two part nest is made from a CORK body and CONCRETE base. A single screw will be used to be used for installation. The body can be replaced once broken down.
Form Modeling A series of concept models led to the final form. The final concept served as a reference for the base mold and body reference.
